Lack of Spatial Redundancy

In January 2026, an arson attack on a Berlin cable bridge destroyed bundled high-voltage and medium-voltage cables simultaneously. A single fire caused tens of thousands to lose power, heating, and communications.

The reality: European grids have technical redundancy, but lack physical spatial separation. Openly accessible brownfield infrastructure is deeply susceptible to physical sabotage.

Replacing infrastructure is impossible

Burying all cables or rebuilding European grids would cost trillions and take decades. We must protect existing "brownfield" assets.

Cameras don't stop fires

Standard surveillance (Cluster 2) only records the destruction. By the time police arrive, the asset is already destroyed.

Concrete is too expensive

Building heavy concrete fortifications around every rural pylon and urban bridge is economically unviable.

The Solution

Introducing Aegis-Skin

A zip-on, smart-intumescent jacket that wraps existing infrastructure. It physically delays destruction while actively triggering targeted grid-defense responses.

1. Passive Hardening

Breathable intumescent composite interwoven with aramid fibers. Allows normal heat shedding, but upon exposure to >150°C (arson), instantly expands into a thermal aerogel shield, buying 60-120 minutes of physical survival time.

2. Active Edge-Warning

Embedded continuous conductive thread. If severed by a grinder or melted by fire, a €25 battery-powered LoRaWAN IoT puck instantly transmits a priority "SABOTAGE IN PROGRESS" alert with precise GPS coordinates.

3. Brownfield Retrofit

Requires absolutely ZERO grid downtime. Technicians zip the jacket over existing exposed cables and use heavy-duty ties on rural pylons. Installation takes less than 3 minutes per meter.
